Hi, My Name is Tom Martin, The Founder Of Gerk Vintage, and This is My Story.
I didn’t start this business with investors, a big team, or even a warehouse, it all began in my small bedroom, as a student juggling study, a part time job at McDonalds, and a growing obsession with vintage. Here are my first ever orders ready to be shipped out.
I was always drawn to thrifting, the early morning runs to get in before everyone else, the $5 finds that'd last me a life time, and the feeling of scoring something no one else had. At first, I was just reselling these pieces online so I could buy more clothes for myself, I didn’t think much of it, but then the messages started rolling in. So many people were reaching out to asking if i had more in stock. I realised I wasn’t just selling clothes, I was giving people something they couldn’t get anywhere else.
I didn’t have much money, I didn’t have any help. Just time, passion, and a gut feeling, this could be something. I reinvested everything I made, bought racks, better packaging, built a site, and tested dozens of different box formats.
